Abstract
Food and food security lately is a national issue because it has been associated with social and political stability as well as the quality of lndonesian human resourccs. The most problems in food and food security issue is to guarantee the continuity and the distribution of national food availability. Thus. the efforts to increase the productivity of rice as a way to national food self-sufficiency are really important to do. One of the holistic approaches that can be done is using local wisdom like Subak system in Bali that has been recognized worldwide.
This research will be carried out in Bolaang Mongondow which is a rice production center in North Sulawesi By taking samples of Bali tribal communities in desa
Werdi Agung and Kembang Merta, Dumoga Timur desa Mopuya, Dumoga Utara.
The next step is annalyzing the impact of the Subak system in order to increase self sufficiency in rice production of farmers in those areas.
The purpose of this research is to analyze the efforts to increase rice production as one approach 10 nnuonal food self sufficiency, by examining the correlation between the three aspects:cultivation economic and social environment
The method of this studi is quantative interpretative method. ln-depth Interviews, observation and participant observation have been used to explore to support this empirical study.
The results of the study showed that the farmers in agropolitan Dumoga have successfully applied Subak system and more importantly supported by the farmers tenacity and potential agricultural land.
