Abstract
One of the principal problems in river management as water resources is the erosion and sedimentation. It has already been causing various disasters such as floods, damages in bridge structures and riverbank revetments, and the malfunction of intake structures. In the present day of regional autonomous era and development equity, the management of river sedimentation must be conducted in concreted and integrated way with holistic approach. It must be considering various aspects, various goals, and various interests, and involving all stakeholders by using the principles of mutual dependence and mutual benefits. By using system approach, it is hoped that the planners can develops a number of alternatives with complete perceptions in regard of evaluation of various aspects, which become the basics in decision making. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a comprehensive model in decision making. It has an ability to provide a basic approach in the rational and intuitive decision making to produce the best of alternatives, which is evaluated by multiple criterions.
