VARIABILITAS GENETIK DAN HERITABILITAS 12 GENOTIPE KEDELAI.

Abstract
The study was conducted to identify genetic variability and heritability of the 12 genotype characters of soybean. Experiment had been carried out from March to June 2003 at the Research Station of Coconut Research Center (BALITKA) at Kima Atas, Mapanget, North Sulawesi employing the Randomized Completely Block Design. There were 10 line of soybeans to be used as treatments, namely GH.7, P.387, P.396, I.235, I.209, M.220, M.345, H.209, H.218, No.13D, as well as 2 soybean varieties, namely Meratus and Willis. Determination of genetic variance coefficient of a character had been performed using the genetic variance and standard deviation of the genetic variance of the character. Heritability value was calculated employing broad sense method. The observed characters were harvest age, number of productive tiller, number of empty pod for each plant, number filled pod for each plant, number of seed for each plant, biomass for each plant, dried seed mass for each plant, 100 seed mass for each plant, harvest index, and seed partition index. The result revealed that the observed characters such as harvest age, number of productive tiller, number of filled pod for each plant, number of seed for each plant, dried seed mass for each plant, 100 seed mass for each plant, and harvest index were categorized as high. Besides, the number of empty pod for each plant, biomass for each plant, and seed partition index had narrow genetic variability and moderate heritability value.
