Abstract
The research was conducted in Microbiology and Plant Disease Laboratory, Plant Pest and Disease Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University, and it was continued in Tomohon city during six weeks. The objective of this experiment was to know the effectiveness of SeNPV and Curacron 500 EC to the larvae of Spodoptera exigua on the spring onion.
The inoculum source of SeNPV from laboratory, namely by infecting healthy larvae through food that has been infected by SeNPV. Concentration of this virus was 8 x 105 PIBs/ml, while insecticide that used was Curacron 500 EC. Mortality tests was carried out on the larvae of third instar S. exigua by spraying method on the spring onion. The treatments were : (A). Water for control, (B) 8 x 105 PIBs/ml of SeNPV, (C). 0,5 ml/ltr of Curacron 500 EC, (D). 1 ml/ltr of Curacron 500 EC, (E).8 x 105 PIBs/ml of SeNPV +0,5 ml/ltr of Curacron 500 EC, (F). 8 x 105 PIBs/ml of SeNPV + 1 ml/ltr of Curacron 500 EC. Each treatment was replicated four times. Combination between 8 x 105 PIBs/ml of SeNPV and 1 ml/ltr of Curacron 500 EC shows the highest S. exigua larvae mortality, namely 71,86 %. It is concluded that this combination can be used to control S .exigua on the spring onion.
