Abstract
Abstract: In an electric power distribution system, the level of reliability is very important
in determining the performance of a system. This reliability can be seen from the extent to
which the electricity supply can supply energy continuously in one year to consumers. The
most basic problem in electric power distribution lies in the quality, continuity and
availability of electrical power services to customers. The 20kV distribution system
equipment in each plant is inseparable from the possibility of small and large disturbances
which will affect the reliability of a generator in distributing electrical power to customers.
The immediate impact that customers can feel from the disruption is a brief blackout. This
outage resulted in losses to both customers and PLN. One of the parameters used to
determine the reliability of a distribution system is to calculate the SAIFI (System Average
Interruption Frequency Index) which is an index calculation of the average number of
disturbances for one year and SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) which
is an index of the average duration. system interruption for one year. The purpose of this
study was to determine the reliability of the electric power distribution system based on the
quality of service at the Lopana South Minahasa Substation. The results showed that the
SAIDI and SAIFI calculations at the Lopana South Minahasa substation have not met the
target set by PT. PLN GI Lopana Minahasa Selatan and SPLN No. 68-2: 1986.
