Abstract

This study aimed to determine the efficiency of production factors of land, seed fertilizer, and labor in rice farming. The experiment was conducted in the village of North Mopuya, sub district of North Dumoga, District of North Bolaang Mongondow with consideration of rice production center, which lasted for three months from September to November 2010. Data obtained from 33 farmers on land strata. The model used in this study the Cobb-Douglass production function, then the data is processed and analyzed using SPSS. The economic efficiency of use of each factor is calculated by using the ratio of the value of marginal product of input Xi with input prices. The results showed the production factors of land, seed fertilizer, and labor, the effects together or partial significantly to rice production in the village of North Mopuya. The use of production factors of land, fertilizer and inefficient labor, the addition of the production factors of land, fertilizer and labor can still be made, while the use of seed production factors are not efficient, to increase the use of reduced seed production by planting 1-3 seeds per planting hole.
