Abstract
This research aims to identify and classify the kinship lexicon then explain the role and meaning in Manadonese Malay greetings. The method used was descriptive as the procedure to generate descriptive data in the form of written data. In generating data, the researcher conducted field research. The technique used was ethnographical interview. The data collection referred to the kinship system to make it easier in uttering questions. The research location was in Manado City of North Sulawesi Province. It was based on consideration that the city is occupied by various people as the speaker of Manadonese Malay in communicating either in the nuclear family based on matchmaking or in bloodline (offspring). The research result showed that the role and meaning of lexicon kinship displayed that people considered as close relatives are family. Family relation is both consanguine and afinal. It is categorized into ego aligned, over ego, and below ego.
