Abstract

Abstract — Electricity has now become one of the most critical factors in daily life and a primary source in the industry. Gas Insulated Switchgear play a crucial role in the electrical transmission system or power distribution, which is why Gas Insulated Switchgear require protective equipment. When the operation of the power system experiences disturbances, the protection system plays a vital role, and one of the protection systems in substations is the Lightning Arrester. Disturbances must be minimized. Lightning Arrester is an essential protective device in the surge protection system for the equipment it safeguards. Lightning Arrester must be capable of promptly diverting surges to the ground. By understanding the capability and optimal distance for Lightning Arrester protection in the 150 kV GIS Teling system against existing disturbances, the reliability and quality of the protection system in the 150 kV GIS Teling can be improved. To analyze the Lightning Arrester protection system, inspections and calculations were conducted, resulting in a protection factor of 22% and an optimal Arrester placement distance of 28.5 meters. Based on the obtained results, it is stated that the specifications of the Lightning Arrester installed in the 150 kV GIS Teling can protect the existing equipment because they meet the protection criteria for the system. Keywords : Gas Insulated Switchgear, Surges, Lightning Arrester, Optimal Arrester Placement Abstrak — Energi listrik sekarang menjadi salah satu faktor yang sangat penting untuk kehidupan sehari-hari ataupun sebagai sumber utama dalam industry. Gas Insulated Switchgear berperan penting dalam sistem transmisi listrik atau penyaluran tenaga listrik, oleh karena itu Gas Insulated Switchgear memerlukan peralatan proteksi. Ketika operasi sistem tenaga listrik mengalami gangguan sistem proteksi mempuyai peran penting, salah satu sistem proteksi pada gardu induk adalah Lightning Arrester. “gangguan harus diminimalisir. Lightning Arreester merupakan peralatan proteksi yang sangat penting dalam sistem perlindungan terhadap surja (surge) kepada pelatan yang dilindungi. Lightning Arrester harus mampu menyalurkan surja yang ada secepatnya ke tanah. Dengan mengetahui kemampuan serta jarak optimal dalam proteksi Lightning Arrester pada GIS Teling 150 kV terhadap gangguan yang ada, dapat meningkatkan keandalan serta kualitas sistem perlindungan pada GIS Teling 150 kV. Dalam menganalisa sistem proteksi Lightning Arrester dilakukan inspeksi dan perhitugan dengan hasil faktor perlindungan 22% serta jarak optimal penepatan Arrester 28,5 m. Dari hasil yang diperoleh dinyatakan spesifikasi Lightning Arrester yang terpasang pada GIS Teling 150 kV dapat melindungi perlatan yang ada karena telah memenuhi kriteria proteksi terhadap sistem yang ada.
