Abstract
Sompotan S. 2014. RESPONSE OF GROWTH AND SWEET CORN (Zea mays sacch~rata Sturt) ON FERTILIZATION. Soil Environment 12 (1): 36-40. The research aims to study the effect of fertilization on plant sweet corn. The study used a randomized block design with four treatments and three replications. Treatment is A = 200 kg N I ha, 150 kg P I ha, 150 kg K I ha, B = 300 kg of ash from fogging copra, C = 100 kg N I ha, 75 kg P I ha, 75 kg K I ha + 300 kg of ash from fogging copra I ha, and D = 200 kg N I ha, 150 kg PI ha + 300 kg of ash from fogging copra/ha. Variables to be measured were 1) dry weight of the plant, measured at harvest, and 2) The weight of cobs per plot, weighed at harvest. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance, followed by LSD test at 5% level. The results showed that the fertilization effect on plant dry weight and the weight of corn cobs per plot. Treatment of 200 kg N I ha, 150 kg P I ha, 150 kg K/ha and 100 kg N/ha, 75 kg P/ha, 75 kg K/ha + 300 kg of ash from fogging copra I ha gave the plant dry weight and sweet corn cob weight per plot best.
