Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the effect of profitability, leverage and earning per share on stock return. Population in this study is all of consumer goods companies which listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. Sample consists of 80 companies in the periode of 2009-2012 which selected by the purposive sampling method. Analytical techniques used is the multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that profitability and leverage had positive and significant effects on stock return, and earning per share negatively and significantly affected stock return of consumer goods companies which listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh profitabilitas, leverage dan earning per share terhadap return saham. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua perusahaan barang konsumsi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Sampel terdiri dari 80 perusahaan pada periode 2009-2012 yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profitabilitas dan leverage memiliki efek positif dan signifikan terhadap return saham, dan earning per share negatif dan signifikan mempengaruhi return saham perusahaan barang konsumsi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia.
