Abstract

Organizational commitment is a psychological ties of employees at organizations that characterized by the presence of trust and strong acceptance to the objectives and values of the organization, having the willingness to work on the achievement of the interest of the organization, and strong desire to maintain the position as member of the organization. The low organizational commitment reflects a lack of responsibility in carrying out duties. The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the influence of empowerment and locus of control on organizational commitment. This study was conducted on the government employees in the district of Minahasa, using survey methods, through hypothesis testing approach to the analysis of multiple linier regression. In this study determined that 92 employees were later taken into the sample is simple random sampling.The results showed that: (1) empowerment had a positive influence on organizational commitment, (2) locus of control had a positive influence on organizational commitment and (3) empowerment and locus of control had a positive influence simultaneously on organizational commitment.
