Abstract
Abstract — Sam Ratulangi Airport is one of the airports in eastern Indonesia which is of international standard, in order to maintain safety and provide comfort to consumers, Sam Ratulangi Airport has a system. backup power The primary source is a diesel-powered power plant (DPPP) to support electricity reliability. At Sam Ratulangi International Airport, an incident occurred where the generator used as backup power repeatedly went out. The purpose of this study was to identify the types of disturbances that occurred, analyze the factors causing the disturbances, and determine solutions and preventative strategies to prevent the disturbances. The results of this study, based on the data and chronology of the disturbances, blackout When connect transformer with generator at the airport, judging from the duration of the disruption, it can be concluded that a disruption occurred Inrush Current This causes the protective equipment to operate, resulting in a blackout or total power outage for the backup power supply (generator). To overcome the inrush current, one method that can be used is gradual phase connection, namely connecting the phases sequentially with a certain delay when the transformer is in an unloaded condition (0 load). There are several connection time settings, the application of differential protection with inrush restraint, and the use of Pre-Insertion Resistor (PIR).
